School dinners are cooked fresh everyday by Mrs Nancy Thomas in the school kitchen. We are inspected regularly, as are all food premises, by Wrexham CBC Environmental Services and by WCBC Support Services to ensure that hygiene and quality control are always of the highest standard. At the last inspection we were awarded a rating of 5* by Wrexham Environmental Services.
Cost of School Meal
All Pupils: £12.00 per week (£2.40 per day)
Payment is made via your ParentPay account where you should also pre-order your child’s meals. If you are experiencing problems with this please contact: schoolmeals@wrexham.gov.uk for support.
A debt of more than 2 meals will result in you being contacted and asked to provide a packed lunch.
Menus
We have a rolling 3 week menu with Week 1 being the first week after a school holiday. You can download the current menu from the County website in English or Cymraeg.
Free School Meals
Children whose parents/carers receive the following support payments are entitled to receive Free School Meals in maintained schools in Wales:
- Income Support (IS)*
- Income Based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA)*
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Income-related Employment Support Allowance (IR)
- Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit with an annual total income below the HMRC set limit
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
*Children who receive IS or IBJSA in their own right are also eligible to receive free school lunches.
You can apply by completing the attached application form and returning to Contact Wrexham, 16 Lord Street, Wrexham, LL11 1LG. It is essential that all sections of this form are completed, in particular Part 1 showing the claimants full name, date of birth and NI number.
Alternatively, if you are already in receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit from WCBC please call the Support Services section on 01978 297413 to discuss your eligibility for free school meals.
The Authority may check with your Benefits Agency, on-line, to confirm the benefits you receive.
